Born in Nablus, Palestine, 1938. Samia studied Fine Arts at the American University of Beirut. Afterwards the artist moved to Washington to pursue her higher education at Corcoran School of Art and the American University 1961.
What distinguishes the artist is that she blends abstract work with handy crafts. She uses various art materials in her work such as oil, acrylic, water colors, and wooden blocks. She molds her metallic sculptures and embroiders her own embroidery, which she uses in her art.
